I've been making socks for Wool Aid, a charity that provides warm wool items for children in need. These socks are from a book called "Sock Hop," by Joseph Madl for Philosopher's Wool. I used mostly Lamb's Pride Worsted, with other scraps from my stash. The lacework is a scarf, made from handmaiden Sea Silk in the Blackberry colorway, left over from the wedding shawl I made my new daughter-in-law and posted last month. The pattern is Branching Out by Susan Pierce Lawrence, available for free at knitty.com.
