Toe up socks…with a new heel.

My work in progress this month is a pair of socks in Socks that rock, in Jabberwocky lightweight …I Like this yarn.

The pattern is simple 2 by 2 ribs, knitted toe-up, and the heel is from the book “Socks from the toe up” by Wendy knits. I am trying for the first time the gusset heel and it is very easy. This is the first time I like the heel of a toe up pattern and it fits perfectly.

Saint-Brigid Carnamoyle stockinettes (Januari)

Made for a KAL on Ravelry, in the group Year of Stash Socks.

My choise for the month was this pattern (click)
the yarn I used: Lana Grossa Linea Pura Organico Print.
the needles: a very quick 5mm
As the good observer already noticed: I adjusted the pattern to my taste. I love the cable so much that I didn't want to stop by the foot, but just knitted it further down.
My taupé was just not enough for two socks, so I also added a second colour and formed some stripes.
These socks are my sitting-by-the-fire-socks, so comfy, so warm. I guess I fell in love with them.

January Projects Completed

Discloths are made with Peaches and Creme cotton leftovers from my stash. The curvy ones are Lizard Ridge from Ravelry, the basketweave ones are the Ballband Warshrags from Mason-Dixon Kniitting, and the other two are from free pattterns I found on the web.

The socks are for my son, Chris. They were supposed to be forChristmas, but he asked for them at Thanksgiving, and he has extremely large feet, so they didn't got done in time. The pattern is herringbone Rib, from Knitting Socks with Handpainted Yarn, yarn is Berocco Soxx in the Oliver colorway. It's darker and brighter than the picture shows.

Happy New Knitting Year!

Thanks for letting me join in the fun; I'm really looking forward to seeing all of the lovely projects everyone is working on. :)

This is shaping up to be an amazing knitting year! I've taken the lace plunge and am working on a gorgeous lace scarf. The pattern is called Petra Lace Scarf from Smariek's blog; I'm using Knit Picks Pallette in a soft shade of pink that I dug out of my stash. The pattern isn't charted so I'm using a row counter and post-its to keep me on track; I use the post-its to keep my eyes from wandering to the wrong row. Thank goodness for life-lines! lol All told, it's a lot of fun to knit! I'm really looking forward to finishing this one so I can start on a lace shawl.

Felted Slippers

These are the Bed Socks with Novelty Yarn from "The Little Box of Socks". They knit up really fast and felted quite well. This was my first felting project and I'm rather pleased with the results.

ETA: The yarn is Lion Brand Wool Prints with Lion Brand Fun Fur around the top. I made no changes to the pattern. "The Little Box of Socks" is authored by Charlene Schurch and Beth Parrott.
I win !!!

Thanks !!! I'm so happy ....!

My address is on the way and I will post my next project shortly.

Tidal Wave Socks

I finally knit another pair of socks! I made so many errors, that I practically knit them twice! Meant for my daughter's birthday in December, but finished on New Year's Day! I used Koigu Painters Palette Premium Merino yarn. The pattern is from

This is the second time I have knit the pattern, the first time without any troubles. So it was a real surprise when I made so many errors this time around.

December 2010 Project

This scarf is about 2/3 done and is being knit as a thank-you to a cousin who helped my son and me last January when we had to travel for his college entrance interview. Her daughter had seen a picture of a scarf in an ad and just loved it. This yarn is very close to what I was shown, so decided to knit it for her.

The yarn (actually roving) is Tahki Montana in colorway 014. It's knitting up rather quickly when I actually work on it, but it's getting kinda big to tote with me, so the overall progress is a bit slow now.

The pattern is basically stockinette stitch, but it's done flat as knit 1, slip 1 so that it actually becomes a tube so that it doesn't curl. I had originally tried to put a garter stitch border on the sides, but it didn't look good plus I didn't care for the reverse st st on the back. I like how this is turning out and am making every effort to finish it by mid-January.

In January, I hope to finish some WIPs and have more projects to post.
