February Completed
My February contributions that I posted on Feb 21 are not included in the Feb 2011 side bar.
I finished the scarf that I originally posted a couple of months ago. It's made from Tahki Montana with 4 skeins/hanks. I used all but about 10 inches of it. The pattern was: cast on 24 stitches. K1, slip 1 with yarn in front. Just keep repeating this until it's the desired length! It makes a tube (except for one stitch that I accidentally purled instead of slipped - oops!).
I didn't realize that my husband's camera would place the pictures on their side!! I couldn't post in January because our modem/router was not working but we are back up and running this month.
The vest is a pattern found on debbiemacomber.com. It is published by Leisure Arts. The yarn is Caron Simply Soft Collection. The color is sand. It is stockinette stitch with a strip of lace on the front. It is an easy pattern. I did it in the round--no side seams. Much easier that way.
The socks are from the Knit Picks pattern Moc Croc socks. They do look like crocodile skin. The yarn is WildFoote Luxury Sock Yarn. The color is Navy Royale. I didn't like the heel and in future will do a heel from another pattern. The leg is very stretchy because it is actually a rib stitch.

Here are my socks for this month...
Knit in Mary Maxim Aloe sock yarn,
in colorway Tanda de Matiz
with Harmony Circular #2.25 mm.
No pattern, just a simple vanilla sock over 72 stitches.... because I love the way the yarn looks.
I hope I will be able to keep them for me. One of my daughters already asked for them...!!! I will have to hide when I'm knitting next time !!!

February Projects
The lace cowl, Lara, is such a lovely thing! It's always nice when something simple is also easy on the eye! I knit it using an alpaca/silk/cashmere blend, so it is scrumptiously soft! 406 yards/93 grams, on US5/3.75mm needles.
The second project is Calorimetry, a headband which covers the ears as well. With nearly 13,000 projects on Ravelry, I just had to see what all the fuss was about. A simple, but very effect headband. 35 grams of an unknown worsted, on US5/3.75mm needles.

February Projects
The puppets are "Critter Mitts", made from a KnitPicks kit, using their Stroll worsted weight yarn. they were a blast to make, and are a gift for my grandsons. There was a platypus in the kit too, but I thought he looked weird, so I didn't make him.
The socks are Errant Socks from Mason and Dixon Knitting Outside the Lines. Yarn is Essential (Stroll) from KnitPicks in the Volcano Twist colorway. I knit them toe up two at a time.
